Attending Mass of a priest who is outside the Church

St. Thomas states that one must avoid the Mass said by sinful priests (sinful without amendment), because sinful priests sin when they celebrate Mass, and so do the people who attend their Mass.

The first category are those who are outside the Church - heretics, schismatics, and the excommunicated.

The second category are those who are inside the Church, and at the same time are certainly known to be sinning, such as keeping a concubine. One can know that he is sinning if he tells on his own accord that he is committing a sin, or if the Church finds out and suspends him. Otherwise, the laity in good conscience can attend their Mass.

Article 9. Whether it is permissible to receive communion from heretical, excommunicate, or sinful priests, and to hear mass said by them?

Objection 1.

It seems that one may lawfully receive Communion from heretical, excommunicate, or sinful priests, and to hear mass said by them. Because, as Augustine says (Contra Petilian. iii), "we should not avoid God's sacraments, whether they be given by a good man or by a wicked one." But priests, even if they be sinful, or heretics, or excommunicate, perform a valid sacrament. Therefore it seems that one ought not to refrain from receiving Communion at their hands, or from hearing their mass.

Objection 2.

Further, Christ's true body is figurative of His mystical body, as was said above (67, 2). But Christ's true body is consecrated by the priests mentioned above. Therefore it seems that whoever belongs to His mystical body can communicate in their sacrifices.

Objection 3.

Further, there are many sins graver than fornication. But it is not forbidden to hear the masses of priests who sin otherwise. Therefore, it ought not to be forbidden to hear the masses of priests guilty of this sin.

On the contrary, The Canon says (Dist. 32): "Let no one hear the mass of a priest whom he knows without doubt to have a concubine." Moreover, Gregory says (Dial. iii) that "the faithless father sent an Arian bishop to his son, for him to receive sacrilegiously the consecrated Communion at his hands. But, when the Arian bishop arrived, God's devoted servant rebuked him, as was right for him to do."

I answer that, As was said above (5,7), heretical, schismatical, excommunicate, [sinful because they are outside the Church] or even sinful priests [sinful albeit inside the Church] , although they have the power to consecrate the Eucharist, yet they do not make a proper use of it; on the contrary, they sin by using it. But whoever communicates with another who is in sin, becomes a sharer in his sin. Hence we read in John's Second Canonical Epistle (11) that "He that saith unto him, God speed you, communicateth with his wicked works."Consequently, it is not lawful to receive Communion from them, or to assist at their mass.

Still there is a difference among the above, because heretics, schismatics, and excommunicates, [certainly sinful because they are outside the Church] have been forbidden, by the Church's sentence, to perform the Eucharistic rite. And therefore whoever hears their mass or receives the sacraments from them, commits sin. But not all who are sinners are debarred by the Church's sentence from using this power [one cannot know with certainty that some of the sinners are indeed sinners]: and so, although suspended by the Divine sentence, yet they are not suspended in regard to others by any ecclesiastical sentence: consequently, until the Church's sentence is pronounced, it is lawful to receive Communion at their hands, and to hear their mass. Hence on 1 Cor. 5:11, "with such a one not so much as to eat," Augustine's gloss runs thus: "In saying this he was unwilling for a man to be judged by his fellow man on arbitrary suspicion, or even by usurped extraordinary judgment, but rather by God's law, according to the Church's ordering, whether he (sinful priest) confess [his sin] of his own accord, or whether he be accused and convicted."

Reply to Objection 1.

By refusing to hear the masses of such priests, or to receive Communion from them,we are not shunning God's sacraments; on the contrary, by so doing we are giving them honor (hence a host consecrated by such priests is to be adored, and if it be reserved, it can be consumed by a lawful priest): but what we shun is the sin of the unworthy ministers.

Reply to Objection 2.

The unity of the mystical body is the fruit of the true body received. But those who receive or minister unworthily, are deprived of the fruit, as was said above (7; 80, 4). And therefore, those who belong to the unity of the Faith are not to receive the sacrament from their dispensing.

Reply to Objection 3.

Although fornication is not graver than other sins, yet men are more prone to it, owing to fleshly concupiscence. Consequently, this sin is specially inhibited to priests by the Church, lest anyone hear the mass of one living in concubinage. However, this is to be understood of one who is notorious, either from being convicted and sentenced, or from having acknowledged his guilt in legal form,or from it being impossible to conceal his guilt by any subterfuge.

In the year 43, King Herod Agrippa summoned the court of Jerusalem to discuss how to deal with the situation of losing people from Judaism to Christianity (Roman Catholicism): "That blow had never been expected. That mysterious force had never been dreamed of. Our fathers attacked it and we continue attacking it. In spite of everything, astonishing! Their number increases. Observe with me how the son is separated from the father, the brother from his brother, the daughter from her mother, all alienating themselves to join that group. This affair encloses a great secret. How many men, how many women, how many entire families have abandoned the Jewish religion in order to follow those impostors, those partisans of Jesus. Hiram Abiud, the King's Counselor, who was the real founder of ancient Masonry, proposed the name of the association as the "Mysterious Force.": "...It seems that there has been a hand, a force, secret, mysterious, that punishes us without our being able to offer resistance. It seems we have lost all our strength to defend our religion and our existence itself. "Majesty, …It is fitting that no one knows anything about this foundation, its principles and its actions. Only those whom Your Majesty may choose as founders will know the secret of the foundation." (p. 43).

· King Agrippa explained the meaning of instruments and symbols used in Masonry:

• "You already know that we must make everyone believe that our Association is very ancient... We will reinforce this deceit with the use of the instruments of construction that the architect Hiram utilized in the construction (of the Solomon Temple), such as the Square, the Compass, the Trowel, the Scales, the Hammer, etc., all of wood as Hiram Abiff had them." (p. 62).
• "...Every session will be opened by striking three times consecutively with this hammer; [still practiced in freemasonry; the practice was transmitted to courthouses] thus we will remember eternally through centuries, that we have crucified him and with this hammer we have fixed the nails in his hands and feet, killing him. These three stars you see symbolize the three nails . We would be able to change them for three points that will have the same significance. Among our symbols will be the three steps, ridiculing with them this blasphemy: God is Father, Son, and Holy Ghost, with his claiming to be the Son." (p. 63).
• "Within our Association, we will make degrees, as we have mentioned previously. These will be thirty-three, symbolizing the age of the impostor. [There are 33 degrees in the Scottish Rite (as opposed to the York Rite) Freemasonry] We will give a name to each degree and we will create other similar symbols. All these things were my ideas and those of brothers Moab and Hiram. The meaning of these ironic symbols must not be perceived; it must remain among the nine of us. For the other brothers or affiliates it is enough to make them see the utilities and instruments so they may believe that the Association was founded in the times of Solomon or earlier than this." (p.64).

The name was changed to Freemasonry on June 24, 1717 in London

• "… Levy and Abraham Abiud, heir-descendants of Moab Levy and Hiram Abiud, were sent from Russia and Germany to London where they met John Desaguliers, who was a Protestant with intense hatred for Catholics. The three agreed on naming the Association : Freemasonry on August 25, 1716. Then on June 24, 1717, they met with the associations of architects and builders in London and officially launched the Association with the new name. Since 1717, the temples were changed to lodges. "

The objectives of Masonry were to destroy the Holy Roman Catholic Church, to create Socialism, and to establish domination of the whole world

• There are triple-objectives of the new Masonry: (a) to preserve Judaism for the Jews, (b) to attack Roman Catholicism, (c) and to embrace naturalism and nihilism. As a result, it acted for the demolition of thrones, the abolition of authorities, spiritual and temporal, so it may have absolute domination of the world. (p. 115). It preaches liberty, equality, and fraternity with perverse meaning: liberty without limits, liberty of blasphemies and deceits, liberty destructive of character, religions, wealth, lives and families; equality signifies the disappearance of all order, everything falling into confusion, with the loss of true values; fraternity is a brotherhood full of egotism and privileges, love of revenge, divisions, endless conflicts, betrayal, robbery, pride, profanation, and nihilism. If the new Freemasonry is the daughter of mother Masonry, Socialism is its granddaughter.
• The mother Masonry threw all her intention in a single goal, which was the battle against Jesus' men. The daughter Masonry (i.e. Freemasonry) surpasses that limit by great distances. It acts for the demolition of thrones and the abolition of authorities, spiritual and temporal, so it may have absolute domination of the world. (p. 115)
  

Numerous popes have condemned Freemasonry and the initiation into Freemasonry incurs automatic excommunication.

The 33rd president of the US, Truman, was a 32nd degree Freemason when he commanded to drop the atom bombs on two most Catholic cities of Japan, Nagasaki and Hiroshima, (and the 33rd degree parallel goes through right-in-between these two cities). Shortly after Truman was promoted to the 33rd degree for his iniquitous deed. [Correction - Nagasaki was a very Catholic city but Hiroshima wasn't. It might not have been purposeful but it's still suspicious]

Freemasonry's goal is the destruction of Catholicism, not any other brand of (false) Christianity such as Protestantism, because they recognize the Catholic Church to be the one personally established by Our Lord JESUS CHRIST.

Communists also infiltrated the Catholic Church.

Bella Dodd, a former high ranking official of the American Communist Party said: "In the 1930s we put eleven hundred men into the priesthood in order to destroy the Church from within." [In the 1930's, 1,100 priests were fake Catholics.] The idea was for these men to be ordained and progress to positions of influence and authority as Monsignors and Bishops. A dozen years before Vatican II she stated that: "Right now they [communists] are in the highest places in the Church" - where they were working to bring about change in order to weaken the Church's effectiveness against Communism. She also said "you will not recognise the Catholic Church."'

Because it was impossible to destroy Catholicism from the outside, Freemasons planned to destroy it from the inside, by infiltrating the hierarchy by Freemasons and communists becoming priests and bishops etc. 

In 1958 Cardinal Siri was elected pope, but a Jewish Freemason, Angelo Roncalli (John XXIII) usurped the papal throne; finally Freemasonry rose to the top of the Catholic hierarchy. Roncalli started the Vatican II Council, initiating the destruction of the Catholic Church at a massive scale. Roncalli invited protestants to the Council to aid in the destruction of Catholicism. He got rid of the Mass: He protestantized and freemasonized the Mass (Cardinal Bugnini the freemason was the architect of the Novus Ordo Mass). The first starter of protestantism Martin Luther's slogan was "destroy the Mass; destroy the Church"

They changed the essential wordings of the consecration of the Eucharist; therefore it is only a piece of bread that Novus Ordo people take during their pseudo-mass. To weaken the faith in Real Presence of Our Lord JESUS CHRIST, they replaced stone-altar with wooden table, and put the Eucharist on the Hand not on the tongue; traditionally only priests are able to touch the Eucharist with their hands, out of respect for the Real Presence. Eucharist on the hand is a practice of the protestants to deny the Real Presence. They changed the other sacraments, so that the new rites of ordination of priests and bishops introduced in 1968 are not valid. The only valid sacraments left are those of Baptism and Matrimony, which doesn't require priests.

In France, which is called the first daughter of the Church, JESUS told St. Marguerite Marie Alacoque to tell the French King to consecrate France to The Sacred Heart of JESUS and put the same in the flag of France. The king and the following kings delayed and delayed. After exactly 100 yrs after the request, as a punishment, the king was guillotined by the freemasons who took over the French government. This is the French Revolution. What sadness to see the first daughter of the Church succumb to devil worshipers. The evil heart of the revolutionary Freemasonic leader was suspended from the ceiling of the revolutionaries' meetings. Thus they were punished by God, permitting them to honor the evil heart of a devil worshiper instead of the Sacred Heart of JESUS. The Catholic priests were made to apostatize, and the few faithful priests had to hide and minister the Sacraments in secret. The apostate priests taught Masonic ideology from the pulpit. The revolutionaries put the statue of a woman symbolizing (false) liberty in lieu of the crucifix of Notre Dame Cathedral.

Our Lord told St. Marguerite Marie Alacoque that it was because she was the most wretched that He made use of her to spread the devotion to the Sacred Heart, and that if there was a person more wretched than she, He would have used that person instead. However supposedly Our Lord told Sr. Faustina that she was a saint, and taught her the Divine Mercy Chaplet to be said on Rosary beads. This can't be right, because the last remedies for the world is the Rosary and Devotion to the Immaculate Heart of MARY. Therefore, the Divine Mercy Devotion (both its Chaplet and its Feast) is stratagem of the devil trying to diminish the devotion to the Rosary and make less visible the anger of GOD towards the modern times' peoples.

Our Lady told Sister Lucia: “The war is going to end. But if they do not stop offending God, another and worse war will begin in the reign of Pius XI. When you shall see a night illuminated by an unknown light, know that it is a great sign that God gives you that He is going to punish the world for its crimes by means of war, of hunger, and of persecution of the Church and of the Holy Father. [This light was actually seen right before World War I.] To prevent this I come to ask the consecration of Russia to my Immaculate Heart and the Communion of reparation on the first Saturdays. If they listen to my requests, Russia will be converted and there will be peace. If not she will scatter her errors through the world, provoking wars and persecutions of the Church. The good will be martyred, the Holy Father will have much to suffer, various nations will be annihilated. In the end my Immaculate Heart will triumph. The Holy Father will consecrate Russia to me [Pius XII did], and it will be converted and a certain period of peace [6 yrs--see below] will be granted to the world.”

Our Lord JESUS told Sister Lucia in 1931,

'They did not wish to heed My request! … Like the King of France they will repent of it, and they will do it, but it will be late. Russia will have already spread its errors in the world, provoking wars and persecutions against the Church. The Holy Father will have much to suffer.'

This is similar to France being taken over by Freemasons after their kings delaying the consecration.

Because the popes delayed the consecration too much, (Pope Pius XII consecrated Russia to the Immaculate Heart in 1952, and by this time Russia "already spread its errors in the world"--to China, North Vietnam, North Korea) the Church was usurped in 1958, by Roncalli (John XXIII), a 33 degree Freemason; in 1958 Cardinal Siri was elected pope but Roncalli stole the throne. The world was granted a period of peace-- 6 years. (The Korean War ended shortly after consecrating Russia--1953. And then there was the Vietnam War in 1959.

How a true pope will be restored:

A prophecy of Bl. Anna Maria Taigi:

All the enemies of the Church,
secret as well as known, will perish during the darkness,
with the exception of some whom God shall soon after
convert. The air shall be infected by demons, who will
appear under all sorts of hideous forms. Blessed candles
will preserve from death, as well as prayers to the Blessed
Virgin and the holy angels. After the darkness, St. Peter
and St. Paul shall descend to preach throughout the earth.
A great light emanating from them shall rest upon him
whom God has chosen for the future Pope (the Lumen in
Coelo of St. Malachi's well-known prophecy). St. Michael,
appearing on earth, shall chain up Satan until the times
of the preaching of Antichrist. Religion will everywhere
extend its empire. Russia will be converted, as will also
England and China; and all nations will rejoice in contemplating
this splendid triumph of the Church. Then
will he accomplished the prophecy of our Lord: 'There
shall be one fold and one shepherd.' After this, the Santa
Casa of Loreto will be transported by angels to Rome
into the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore. P. Calixte

prediction, and had also said that it would be transferred

One of the celestial personages who most frequently favoured her with his visits was S. Peter, Prince of the Apostles. One day he ordered her to cause a church at Albano, dedicated to him, which had fallen into ruins, to be restored. He mentioned to her the person who would supply the money necessary for this purpose. She had, indeed, only to present herself to the person indicated, when she obtained all that she desired.

The following vision produced a great sensation in the Holy City. On the Feast of S. Peter, Elizabeth prayed the Apostle to succour the Church whose guardianship had been confided to him, and to pray for the sinners who dishonoured her. Suddenly the heavens were opened, and the Apostle S. Peter descended, dressed in pontifical vestments, and surrounded by a numerous troop of angelic Spirits. With his pastoral staff he traced a large cross upon the ground: he touched its four extremities, and four mysterious trees, full of flowers and fruit, arose. Then he opened the doors of all the monasteries, both of men and women, and returned to heaven. The four mysterious trees were to serve as a place of refuge for all the faithful who had the happiness to preserve the sacred deposit of the Faith, during the cruel trial which Our Lord was about to send upon His Church.

At the same moment the heavens were covered with dark clouds, and such a violent wind was let loose, that both men and animals were filled with terror. In this horrible confusion, men devoured each other, the devils themselves mixed in the carnage to multiply the victims. But what was most remarkable, they could vent their homicidal rage only on the impious ; the good, sheltered under the four mysterious trees, were in safety, under the protection of the holy Apostles SS. Peter and Paul.

When the Divine Justice was appeased, by the effusion of so much blood and the destruction of the impious, the clouds which obscured the heavens were dispersed, and a mild ray of light announced to the earth the reconciliation of God with men. The Apostle S. Paul appeared full of power and strength; he took the devils, loaded them with chains, and led them to the feet of the Prince of the Apostles. S. Peter held sovereign power to judge them: he condemned them to be precipitated into the abyss, and the sentence was immediately executed.

In order to celebrate this glorious victory, the Angels mingled with the Faithful who had not failed during the trial, and conducted them to the feet of S. Peter, who received their homage and thanks, seated upon a majestic throne. He himself chose the new Pontiff who was destined to reorganise the Church. The Religious Orders were re-established, the Faithful were inflamed with new fervour, the Church recovered her primitive beauty, and the Sovereign Pontiff was recognised in every country of the world as the Vicar of Jesus Christ.

This marvellous vision contained, under symbolical forms, the Apocalypse of our times.
